Update on the Jon and Sarah wedding

Hello, hello! Only took us 3 months to do an update, not bad. With just under 2 months to go, we are thankfully left with only small things to do to prepare for 9/19/09.

Today, Sarah and I are going to go and taste the food we'll all be enjoying on the 19th. The restaurant is Quartino, located to very close to the hotel and pretty close to the ceremony location. For those of you that are driving in on Saturday (and then leaving that night), Quartino has valet parking, and it will be free (99% sure of this, will be 100% sure after we visit today) that night. So, do not park in one of the public lots...you're parking for free in downtown Chicago this night (99% sure).

About the hotel, we have a block of rooms (the "Dimenn Allison Wedding Block") at the Four Points Sheraton. If you happen to call, and they say "the block is full", please email me (jon.allison@gmail.com). This is an easy fix, as I just need to call our coordinator at the hotel, and she'll increase the available rooms. And again, when you request a room with our block, you should be quoted a price of $149 per night for Friday 9/18 and/or Saturday 9/19. If you don't get this price, please email me.


If anyone has a question, please don't hesitate to email me. I like emails. I just got one the other day saying there are millions in gold available to me in Nigeria. Come wedding day, I could be a millionaire.

Wedding Ceremony Location

After looking at a few parks in February Chicago weather, we found a park that was 1) near the hotel and reception area, and 2) available. Sarah filled out all of the Chicago Park District paperwork in triplicate, hoped she signed and initialed everything in the right place, and sent off the request for Seneca Park, located across the street from the Museum of Contemporary Art. We just found out the result - full success!

Where to stay for our Wedding - The Four Points Sheraton

The hotel is a short two-block walk (or stumble depending on your post-reception status) to Quartino, the Italian restaurant where we will be having our reception.

We have rooms reserved for Friday, September 18 and Saturday September 19 (wedding day). They should quote you at $149 per night. If the hotel person says that the wedding block is filled up, please ask them to connect you with Yolanda Clark-Ruiz. She is our contact from the hotel, and she's a very nice lady who should take care of your reservation.
